The hidden cost of pool circulation

Did you know?

Measured data from pool audits shows that circulation pumps in 25m pools normally use over 100,000 kWh per year — costing more than £25,000 annually to keep running. Many of these systems are running far less efficiently than they should be.

There's real potential to cut that cost, save energy, and make progress toward your sustainability targets.

Why pool circulation wastes so much energy

Oversized and outdated: Many pumps are bigger than the application needs, and often old and inefficient. They run at full speed around the clock, whatever the actual demand.

Poor control — Even systems with VSDs are often not tuned to actual demand, or are controlled in a way that doesn't match how the pool is used.

System losses: It's not only the pumps. Pipework and valves that don't suit the flow add resistance, and the pump has to work harder to overcome it.

What we look at

We measure — Flow (clamp-on ultrasonic meters), pressure, and power, on-site.

We understand — A clear, data-based picture of how the system is really performing.

We propose — Smarter controls and system-level improvements, backed by a report.
